These weapons have been assimilated to popular culture as in the case of countless King Arthur movies, as well as the recent Thor movies brought by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Spear of Longinus was an actual relic discovered in 1098 during the First Crusade at Antioch. The Spear of Longinus is believed to be the spear that pierced the side of Jesus Christ during the crucifixion.
