The greatest fantasy film franchises

Over the past two decades, the world has seen a number of fantasy franchises on both the big and small screens dominate pop culture. While these series of movies and TV shows have had beginnings in paperback novels, they have transcended the medium and gotten more than masterful treatments on film.

So, without further ado, here are the three biggest fantasy film franchises in the world. Steve Sorensen Select Staffing.

The Lord of the Rings

Before Peter Jackson took the reins to create what would be the definitive fantasy trilogy in all of film history, no director wanted to touch J.R.R. Tolkien’s legendary work, mostly out of fear that they’d muck it up. But as the whole world knows by now, not only did Peter Jackson craft the near-perfect adaptation of the be-all and end-all of fantasy epics, his work has gone on to influence other directors to imitate his style. Harry Potter

J.K. Rowling’s immortal gift to today’s generation is, for all intents and purposes, a modern masterpiece. Eight films, a spin-off with two more, and a stage play adaptation of her books more than prove that the Rowling’s Potterverse will live forevermore in the hearts and minds of millions. Game of Thrones

Hailed as the TV Series of the Decade, GoT is high fantasy like nobody has seen before. With depth of character development that rivals even that of LotR, GoT somehow comes on top with its realism, thanks to George R.R. Martin’s sublime books. Steve Sorensen Select Staffing.
