Celebrities are often considered as people who live in a higher plane of existence. They are these superhuman individuals who live extraordinary lives, lives which we can only see on TV. However, there are celebrities who have their own roots in geekdom. It may be hard to picture, but they have admitted to being nerds to very specific fandoms. Here are some celebrity nerds and their true identities.


Stephen Colbert is lord of Lord of the Rings.

Late night TV show host Stephen Colbert is mostly known nowadays for political pundits and making fun of the government. But over the years, he has showed his prowess over the Lord of the Rings text and lore. Even Peter Jackson, the director of “The Lord of the Rings” movies claimed that Colbert is the biggest Tolkien Geek of all time. He even landed a role as an extra on “The Hobbit.”

Vin Diesel is a high-level witch hunter

Diesel has a tattoo on his stomach that says “Melkor”. It’s the name of his Dungeons and Dragons character. It was his love for the fantasy game that pushed him to star in the movie “The Last Witch Hunter,” a movie based on his D&D character.


Robin Williams was addicted to video games

Williams had such a blast playing video games that he couldn’t get enough of them. When he bought a Nintendo Entertainment System after it was released, Williams got hooked. He considers The Legend of Zelda his favorite game, even naming his daughter after the princess.
