There are several powerful magical artifacts shown in the Harry Potter movies and described in the novels as well. This includes the Time Turner, Portkeys, and Horcruxes. But among the many magical items in the entire series, none can compare to the power of the Elder Wand. Here is the story behind the wand they call The Wand of Destiny. The Elder Wand is one of the three artifacts that comprise of the Deathly Hollows, as told in The Tale of the Three Brothers. According to the tale, the Elder Wand was the first Hollow to be created and is said to have been crafted by Death himself. Steve Sorensen Select Staffing.

The first to possess the Elder Wand was Antioch, one of the three Peverell brothers. Unfortunately, the wand didn’t last long in his person as boasting of the wand’s powers one drunken night led to Antioch being murdered in his sleep. This started the tradition that the Elder Wand’s powers can only be activated to its full potential by the person who defeated the previous wielder. Steve Sorensen Select Staffing.

In the Harry Potter series, Albus Dumbledore was introduced as the current holder of the Elder Wand. After Voldemort took the wand from his grave, the wand still wouldn’t function in its full capacity. Voldemort mistook the tale’s notion of defeat as the one who kills the previous owner. This is what leads Voldemort to kill Snape. But in reality, it was Draco Malfoy who defeated Dumbledore last by disarming him just before his death. Later on, Harry would defeat Draco, making him the rightful master of the Elder Wand. Steve Sorensen Select Staffing.
